This was such a sharp read. The metaphor of disarming an atomic bomb being the “worst job” is spot on—not just because of the technical risk, but because no one wants to be the guy who drops their deterrent first. You captured that impossible double-bind so well.

Also appreciated the quiet nod to MAD’s weird success—how peace was upheld not by trust, but by the guarantee of ruin. It’s grim, but real. Makes you wonder if that kind of logic can ever be safely unwound, or if we’re locked into it indefinitely.
