David Axe is a journalist, author and filmmaker in South Carolina. For 20 years he has covered war for more publications and networks than he can recall, including Forbes, Rolling Stone, The Daily Beast, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vice, The Village Voice, Voice of America and C-SPAN. He has reported from some of the world’s worst war zones: Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and others.

David writes books and comics and makes movies. Right now, he’s focused on covering Russia’s wider war on Ukraine: the technology, tactics, people and politics that shape the defining war of the third decade of the 21st century.
